He was a good drawer and colorist who depicted different subjects, portraits, genre paintings, landscapes and especially Oriental subjects due to his frequent trips in the Middle East - Egypt, Syria, Greece, Palestine, Turkey - where he took part to successful exhibitions. His Italian landscapes production is characteristic of his early years before the trips abroad. In that period, he used to depict glimpses and landscapes of Val D'Aosta, like this one.
